- Representation: “Can I see myself here?” - having mentors in the same shoes as those underrepresented students
- Barriers: “What’s stopping me?” - awareness, navigating barriers to entry, including financial, cultural, and communal
- Any other problem areas that you can think of
Requirements
Technical Tracks
Choose from one of two technical tracks:
Track 1: No-code Prototype
-
No coding needed, just show us your idea visually, like a PowerPoint and Figma. There’s a Figma workshop on at 9:45-10:30 -- we’ll guide you to the room.
-
Example: If your idea is a mobile app, you can use Figma to design the UI/UX and walk us through how it works
Track 2: Code Prototype
-
Build a simple version of your idea: a product that addresses a problem area
-
Example of a bare-bones app demo: code that doesn't necessarily need a working user interface -- just show us the logic of it working, e.g. run the code and sample tests/inputs, and show us the output in the terminal
-
You may use Kiro and Replit to speed up coding your prototype, but you don’t have to. There is a recording of the Kiro/Replit workshop from Wednesday.
-
Your prototype doesn’t have to be complete. We just want to see your first version, your concept brought to life. You can demo your product as a video.
